Fiordland Underwater

Worms

Rarely are worms the visually dominant organisms in a marine environment. In Fiordland however whole cliff faces can be taken up by various serpulid and sabellid worms. This featherduster worm is a solitary species. The 75 mm diameter crown serves both a respiratory and feeding function.
