Worms
Rarely are worms the visually dominant organisms in a marine environment. In Fiordland however whole cliff faces can be taken up by various serpulid and sabellid worms. This featherduster worm is a solitary species. The 75 mm diameter crown serves both a respiratory and feeding function.

This tubeworm Protula bispiralis often lives in huge densities just below the low salinity layer.
